- create or use an account;

- otherwise interact with the Service.

A. Information You Provide (Account and Support)
- Account information: name, username, email address.
- Customer support content: information you send to us when you request support (for example, messages, attachments, and diagnostic details you choose to provide).
B. Photos and Images You Provide
Nodiara allows you to capture or upload book cover images and related media to organize your personal library. By default, your library content is stored locally on your device unless you choose to upload content for a feature that requires server processing.
We do not perform facial recognition and do not create or infer biometric identifiers or biometric information from your photos.
C. Location Information (Only With Your Permission)
If you grant permission, we may collect:
- approximate location; and/or
- precise location,
for features that may benefit from location context. You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings.
D. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:
- device information (such as device model, operating system version, language, app version, and identifiers as permitted by your device settings);
- usage statistics (such as feature usage, in-app interactions, and performance metrics); and
- crash logs and diagnostic data (to detect and fix errors).
E. Cookies and Similar Technologies
If the Service includes web-based components (for example, embedded web views), we may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies (which may include web beacons) to:
- keep you logged in;
- remember your preferences; and
- measure performance and reliability.

- Provide and maintain the Service (including account creation, authentication, and core functionality).
- Personalize your experience (such as preferences and organization settings).
- Improve the Service (analytics, debugging, and product development).

- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
5) AI-Assisted or Server-Side Processing (If You Choose to Use It)
Some features may optionally involve automated analysis to improve your reading experience (for example, extracting book details from a cover image, recognizing text, generating reading insights, or organizing notes).
When you choose to upload images or text for such processing:
- Processing location: the uploaded content is processed on servers controlled by Nodiara Team (our own infrastructure).
- No third-party sharing: we do not share your uploaded images or text with any third parties for processing or any other purpose.
- No training/marketing: uploaded content is not used to train models and is not used for marketing or advertising.
- Deletion after processing: uploaded content is deleted from our servers immediately after the requested processing is completed, except where temporary retention is necessary for reliability or security (in which case we retain it for the shortest time necessary).
- Your control: you control whether to upload content and whether to generate any derived output.
7) International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.
8) Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including:
- encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate;
- access controls and least-privilege practices;
- periodic audits and security reviews; and
- backups and recovery procedures.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9) Data Retention
We retain information as follows (unless longer retention is required by law):
- Account data: for the duration your account is active.
- Account deletion: after you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days.
- Usage statistics: up to 12 months, then deleted or aggregated/anonymized.
- Customer support content: up to 6 months, unless we need it longer to resolve an issue you raised.
- Server-side processing uploads (if used): deleted immediately after processing as described above.
10) Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- access your personal information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to certain processing; and
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent (for example, location access).

11) Age Requirement
Nodiara is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child under 17 has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
